Aprildom: Appledore

Look northward from this rock and see,

Temptations-

they say

Deceive.

Capitulate

the logic and wisdom.

Mind says- Step Back!

Go far away.

The soul deludes

Knots, criss-crosses.

Enveloping desires

The roses though pout now
Their layers are losing interest
In our not so placid conversations
and overtly placed contexts.
Watch them unfold
Unfurl.
And what is left?
The tea is now cold,
The confluence of our silences
Have evaporated into the dark corners
Of this house, and out of us.
Leave, says the satiated soul
Like the despicable bite of apple
Loved, lusted and now lost.

Today's Prompt:-

1.The word "A" (from A2Z Blog Challenge) and,

2. Write a poem that has the same first line as another poem, written by another poet. I have chosen the poem 'Appledore' by Annie Whitney, and the original poem can be found HERE.

The above post is a congruence of celebrating the National Poetry Month-April in the NapoWrimo 2013. Also, this is part of the A to Z Blog Challenge. April is a special month because I was born on the 13th of this month and poetry is something I am extremely passionate about. Thus, here I go.

Vrrommmm..Vrrooooommm...Vrroooooooommmm!

  1. You're indeed a poet's poet. Love the lyricism of the lines. Look forward to the rest of your challenge posts!
